Harris Receives $6 M from US DoD for Falcon III Tactical Radio ...


  • Providing accessory kits for AN/PRC-117G, most widely fielded wideband networking radio.

Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has received a $6 million order from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for tactical radio accessory kits for the Falcon III? AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radio. The Army is procuring these kits to enable warfighters to communicate using the embedded L-Band functionality of the radio.

The JTRS-Certified Falcon III? AN/PRC-117G is the world's most widely fielded tactical wideband networking radio, delivering enhanced situational awareness by connecting warfighters to the tactical Internet.

"These kits will enable the U.S. forces to extend in-vehicle voice and data communications in the L-Band range," said George Helm, president, Department of Defense Business, Harris RF Communications.
